How Groomi works!
GROOMI IS A REVOLUTIONARY GROOMING TOOL DESIGNED WITH YOUR PET IN MIND!
Groomi is the only tool you’ll need to care for your pet’s coat. One size really does fit all: Dogs, Cats, and Horses – but we also have a few other furry customers, including goats and rabbits! It works by using its innovative wide, shallow comb to gently and effectively remove dead hair, dandruff and other nastiness from coats without irritating your furry friend. As easy to use as it is on your pet’s skin. Check out our handy FAQ if you want to learn more. If not, feel free to contact us directly – we’re a very friendly bunch and love talking about Groomi!
HOW DO I USE MY GROOMI BRUSH?
Hold the comb vertically against your pet’s coat and use short strokes to work the tool down with the direction of hair growth (not against the grain, they will NOT thank you for that). Try to avoid bony or sore areas. You won’t need to apply much pressure at all, just enough to gather the hair.
For the comb to work you don’t need to apply a lot of pressure, just enough to gather the hair. Your comb should last around 18 months before it needs to be replaced.
WHAT ANIMALS CAN YOU USE THE GROOMI ON?
You can use the Groomi on any animal that sheds their coat. Horses, Dogs, Cats, as well as rabbits and goats will enjoy a good go with the Groomi. A lot of customers use their Groomi with their ‘non-shedding’ dogs. All dogs shed, just different amounts. Even on coats that shed very little, the Groomi still removes dead hair and dirt, leaving them fresh and clean! By removing dead hair, coats can breathe, oils comes to the surface and this all helps with irritability and itching. You’re taking care of the skin as much as the coat.
DOES IT CUT THE HAIR?
Short answer: No
Long answer: Nooooooo
Non-silly answer: The Groomi comb’s teeth are designed to be wide apart and shallow with no cutting edge. This means that they pick up the dead hair, dandruff, and dirt – all without cutting the hair. The design is protected so a Groomi is the only tool to offer you such a snazzy service.
CAN YOU REPLACE THE COMBS?
Absolutely! While the Groomi tool itself is strong and sturdy, the combs in any grooming tool do get less effective over time. We’re proud that our combs last a minimum of 18 months and can be easily replaced with us so they don’t end up in a landfill.
What if I don’t have any tools when replacing the combs?
Good news – not a problem! All you need is the end of the new comb which fits easily into the release screw. Then, you can use the old comb to do it back up again. Clever, eh?!
IS THE GROOMI ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY?
It is indeed. The Groomi handle is made from partly recycled plastic and the packaging is made from cardboard, so is recyclable. The stainless steel combs are replaceable and we offer to recycle them for you. Just send your used combs over to us and we’ll do the rest!
